Tecno Mueble and the mexican market

Imprimir

This week, TECNO MUEBLE takes place in the city of Guadalajara. The event focuses the furniture sector's gaze on the Mexican market and its possibilities. Mexico has a population of 130.3 million and a nominal GDP of US$ 1.3 trillion, according to 2021 data. It means the 15th largest economy in the world and the 4th largest in the Americas, behind only the United States, Canada, and Brazil.

In recent years, the building sector in Mexico has stood out for its economic rise, comprising the construction of residential housing, commercial structures such as offices, commercial warehouses, and distribution centers, and service buildings such as hospitals and schools. The sector accounted for 46% of the construction industry's value in 2019, representing an important driver for the demand for furniture, which is needed to equip these new buildings, which boosted the furniture sector even more.

However, despite its domestic demand, Mexico still finds its source of income and business in exports. For the furniture industry exports represent 79.1% of production, while 30.8% of domestic demand for furniture in Mexico is supplied by imported products. Most furniture imports come from China, with a rate of 63.4%, followed by Italy, Spain, and Vietnam. Mexico's furniture exports are more significant to the United States, which recorded growth in specific types of furniture, such as wooden furniture for use in bedrooms and wood-framed seating.

The US market is recognized for its high quantity demands and its demand for agility and practicality. It is a reflection of the behavior of the American consumer, who seeks easy solutions that do not require time or labor, which influences their decision-making process when purchasing furniture. Large departmental networks stand out in the sector by offering ready-made or simplified assembly furniture.

This made the Mexican market identify a great business opportunity. Thus, they started to export assembled furniture, providing the quality and durability that the famous American chains needed. The change also brought a challenge: transport logistics.

It is at this point that Projepack establishes itself as an ally and a reference in the Mexican market, with equipment such as the Compact G Series and Modular G Series, which allow the packaging of assembled furniture. Working with heat shrink film offers the stability and security that the products need to be exported. With our machines, we simplified and make the packaging process efficient for high-volume production processes, and accompanying mass productions. In this way, the assembled furniture can be packed safely, with quality material, reducing the risk of damage during export logistics.

During Tecno Mueble, Projepack will present its solutions in machinery for final packaging, adding contacts and opportunities in the Mexican market, further propagating the power of the Brazilian market on the world stage.
