In Brazil, May 25th is celebrating Industry Day, which 20 years ago was instituted in honor of the patron of Brazilian industry, engineer Roberto Simonsen, who died on this date, in 1948. Roberto was an engineer, administrator, professor, historian, politician, and member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters - BAL. In addition, he was president of the National Confederation of Industry and the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP). According to the National Confederation of Industry data, the sector accounts for 22.2% of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 71.8% of exports of goods and services, and 68.6% of business investment in research and development. For every BRL 1 produced in the industry, BRL 2.43 is generated in the economy. Currently, the industry's share of employment in Brazil is 20.9%, offering work to 9.7 million people. The industries embrace the most varied types of markets, such as the metalworking sector in which Projepack is.
